| "Jewelry
should be reflective of an individual’s personality and
taste. It should compliment– not dominate the wearer.
Ideally, my
wearable art jewelry should be able to be worn on any occasion – not
kept in the box in a dresser drawer." |

Ann Webster-Lang
designs unique, wearable jewelry art sculpture that celebrates the
individual.
Her
wearable sculpture is inspired by natural forms. Ann is drawn to
the
simplification of these forms – the bare bones of their
structure. She
finds that when you pare something down to the root of its form, you
see the interconnectedness of everything. Relatedly, she gets
excited
and motivated by the symbolism commonly found in all that surrounds
us. Familiar shapes and simplistic forms – the circle, square,
triangle and spiral – have multi-layered meanings that inspire her
current jewelry creations.

Ann works in mixed media: primarily sterling and
fine silver, precious metal clay (PMC) and polymer clay. She adds
to this base a variety of other media:
glass beads, precious and semi-precious stones, fibers, images, wire,
wood and much more. She is inspired by the way these different
mediums
interact
with each other.
Ann loves how each piece of her jewelry “speaks” to individuals in a
unique way.
