Jeanne McWaters uses handmade paper
to create nature-inspired collages.  Bugs, leaves, and other objects are incorporated
into paper that is then woven, collaged, quilted and stitched into landscapes and other works.

"Having graduated into so called retirement,
I continue to explore ways and means to share my love of working with my hands. Paper making opened a whole new avenue of exploration. From the simple pulling of sheet of paper to transforming it into a collage, a page in a book, a greeting card or a pair of earrings it is very exciting."

Jeanne has been working to bring the Arts
to the Bennington area for over 40 years. 
As a graduate of Parson's School of Design and the Vermont State Board of Education, she taught Art in the public schools for over 40 years.  She served three years as Director of Arts Education for the Vermont Arts Exchange. For the past 27 years Jeanne has coordinated the Annual SVSU Art Show held at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

Her works have been shown in the Bennington Museum, Vermont Arts Exchange, Arlington Library, and Southwest Vermont Medical Center Gallery.
