Tom Longtin is a digital sculptor / graphic designer. Using computer workstations with graphic and modeling software, Tom creates three-dimensional sculptures in wood and plastics.  The use of the computer and his mechanical engineering background, encourages variations-on-a-theme and
trial-and-error for Tom.

Some of Tom's "Gears" animations can be seen in Mirimar's "The Mind's Eye" video.
His work has been featured in Arts Et Mathesis (Art In Mathematics) foundation publication from the Netherlands, and on the cover of International Electronical and Electronics Engineers' "Computer Graphics and Applications."

"Computers are a powerful means for encouraging and facilitating artistic expression .... Just as we can cut and paste text into a final composition, computers can be thought as word processors for producing art. Undo and redo capabilities allow visualizing several alternatives – either converging towards a desired result or diverging in a direction not
originally imagined."
